Learn more about the insurance risk you are interested in and the signs of damage caused by it
The established soil moisture deficit index value for the relevant period is indicated in the insurance policy.
In the event of an insured incident, the benefit amount is calculated according to the terms of the insurance contract. The maximum insurance benefit is 18% or 25% of the insured value of the affected field.
Insurance Coverage Period:
Optional: 2 insurance phases or 3 insurance phases.
Strong winds exceeding 15 meters per second that cause damage to cultivated plants. If a competent state agency has not determined the wind speed at the location of the insured property, a storm will be considered to have occurred if such strong winds have caused damage to otherwise healthy, well-maintained cultivated plants at their location and nearby (no more than 3 kilometres from the site of the insured incident, including existing buildings and other properties that were in good condition before the storm).
Signs of damage:
- Plants or their parts are torn at the roots, crushed, broken, split, torn, or blown away.
- The flattening of the crops by the storm: destruction of plants if the crops are flattened by the storm and/or heavy rain, resulting in the plant being broken at the root crown.
Insurance Coverage Period:
From germination until BBCH 89 (full ripeness)
Short-term atmospheric precipitation, typically associated with warm weather, in the form of ice pellets.
Signs of damage:
- Plants are broken, their fibres are damaged, pods are torn, and seeds are burst.
Insurance coverage period:
From germination until harvest (but no later than September 15 for winter crops or October 15 for spring crops)
Atmospheric precipitation in the form of water droplets resulting from seasonal weather conditions that cause significant rainfall on a given day, defined as more than 15 litres of water per square meter (15 mm) within 15 minutes, or heavy rain that accumulates more than 50 litres of water per square meter (50 mm) within 24 hours.
Signs of Damage:
- Plants or their parts burst, are broken, crushed, torn, or split.
- Due to soil erosion caused by heavy rain, cultivated plants or their parts are uprooted or washed away, covered with eroded soil and sediment.
- A crust of soil forms due to the water layer created by heavy rain, preventing seedlings from germinating and growing.
- The flattening of the crops due to heavy rain: crops are flattened by heavy rain and/or a storm, resulting in the cultivated plant being broken at the root crown.
Insurance Coverage Period:
From sowing until BBCH 89 (full ripeness)
This insurance coverage applies only to the cereal plant group.
In the event of crop flattening, a 20% insurance benefit is determined based on the insured value of the affected area of the field when the plants are at the development stage from BBCH-59 (end of heading) to BBCH-71 (start of development of fruit; the first green seeds have reached half their typical size and the seeds are a watery liquid).
When the plant development stage reaches BBCH-73 (early milk; the liquid in the grains gradually turns white) up to BBCH-85 (soft dough; the grain is dry but still soft and does not hold a fingernail imprint), a 15% insurance benefit is made based on the insured value of the affected area of the field.
Damage to winter crops (winter cereals) that have not yet matured during the wintering period due to cold weather, frost, severe cold, or the accumulation of ice and snow above them. Frost is defined as seasonal weather with temperatures below 0°C. Only losses arising from unfavourable winter conditions causing cultural plants or their parts to freeze, die, wither, or rot are insured.
Signs of Damage:
- Plants or their parts freeze, die, wither, or rot due to unfavourable wintering conditions.
Insurance Coverage Period:
From November 1 until April 30
During the insurance period, if the air temperature in the insured field drops below -2°C at a height of two meters above the upper soil layer at least once. Crop losses are compensated if the plant cells are damaged or burst due to frost damage to the crops or their parts. Insurance coverage begins 15 days after sowing or for winter crops from the development stage BBCH-32 (node two is 2 cm above node one).
Insurance Coverage Period:
From May 20 until August 30
Loss compensation extends to a proven loss of crops on the insured field during harvesting operations caused by a proven fire from harvesting equipment. In the event of a fire, the uninsured loss amount is 20% of the total loss amount.
Insurance Coverage Period:
During harvest
